Wildlife Wendy - animal presenter

Wildlife Wendy is a professional animal trainer based in Los Angeles, California.  Since 1990, halley_closeupWendy has been working with a variety of exotic animals such as marine mammals, big cats, primates, hoofstock, reptiles and birds.

An Ohio native, Wendy once aspired to become a television personality and was anchoring the morning news in Bucyrus, Ohio at the age of 20!  Extensive feature reporting about animals led Wendy to become a dolphin handler and performer at Cedar point's Oceana Show in Sandusky, Ohio.

Wendy was then accepted to the highly acclaimed Moorpark College Teaching Zoo in Southern California.  She earned her degree in exotic animal training and management specializing in wildlife education.  Wendy continued to performing in animal shows across the country including California's Six Flags Magic Mountain and New England's Riverside Park.  In addition to performing, Wendy has trained exotic and domestic species for the television and film industry including the feature film "Being John Malkovich", ABC's "Grace Under Fire", Family Networks "Wild Animal Games" as well as Petco, American Touristor and Volkswagen commercials.

In 1995 Wendy developed and produced her own tropical bird show.  With the goal to create awareness about the endangered Rainforest and what it's like living with parrots at home, Wendy and her performing parrots have edu-tained people of all ages for State and County fairs, school programs, senior citizen groups and on television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Howie Mandel, America's Greatest Pets and The Donny and Marie Show.

Today, Wendy's goal is to combine her animal and broadcasting experiences.  The creation of "Wildlife Wendy" is intended to give viewers an enthusiastic perspective that is entertaining as well as thought-provoking!

Wendy Horton and her tropical birds have been entertaining people of all ages since 1995.

Gilligan closeupAn Ohio native, Wendy once aspired to be a television personality and was a small market news anchor at the age of 20!  In 1990, Wendy got bit by the animal bug and moved to Southern California to study Exotic Animal Training and Management at Moorpark College.  Upon graduation, Wendy was performing in animal shows at theme parks across the country including California's Six Flags Magic Mountain, Ohio's Cedar Point and New England's Riverside Park.  In addition to performing, Wendy has trained her birds and other animals for the film and television industry.

After working with all kinds of animals, Wendy could not deny her passion for parrots.  Her very first bird Allie, the Alexandrine Parakeet, inspired Wendy to produce her own show.  Wendy's goal was to not only entertain, but to create an awareness about the endangered Rainforest and what it's like living with birds at home.  Allie, along with the rest of Wendy's flock enjoy performing!  Parrots are highly intelligent, social animals and welcome the opportunity to problem solve.  Performing in shows provides these birds with an excellent source of physical and mental stimulation!
