Oumar "Niancho" Sanneh is a former dance and drum artist of the Bougarabou African Ballet of Saly M'Bour, West Africa. Born and raised in Senegal, Niancho began dancing at the age of six. Now with his versatile dance/music troupe, Niancho can customize a performance to any needs. With innovative choreography, breathtaking costumes, captivating dances that can include dances on stilts and even fire eating!, Pulsating drum rhythms and exquisite narration to share the culture make up this full stage performance.
For Schools: Always customized to the grade and age group, this performance of 2-3 dancers/ musicians portrays the songs, drumming, folktales and traditions of native Africa. In workshops students learn geography, natural resources, social customs, economy, folktales, languages, artifacts, dance and music of several African countries.
